The Clot Thickens
The Clot Thickens is an arcade timing-based game about infecting healthy cells, where the player has to precisely time jumps to survive.
The game was made as a proof of concept by a team of 5 (as part of my game design course).
As a game designer for the game, I was responsible for most of the levels as well as fine tuning the jump timing mechanic. We had to select between various different kinds of jumps through multiple user-tests to capture the one that addicted people the most. I experimented with encouragement through failure in the game's design.
As the sole programmer of the game, I was responsible for writing the code using GameMaker:Studio, in GML. I had to quickly prototype aforementioned ideas for user-testing, as well as polish the entire experience.
